The Faculty of Science at Stockholm University is the largest science faculty in Sweden and is among the top hundred science faculties in the world on the Shanghai ranking. The Faculty offers top-class education in a number of programmes and courses. At Master´s level more than 30 study programmes are  given in English.

SEK 100 million donation to mathematicians

The Department of Mathematics at Stockholm University has received a donation of SEK 100 million. The interest on the donation will be used to fund scholarships for young researchers.

The GROMACS computer software developed by Erik Lindahl’s research group to simulate the molecules of life, is used all around the world to study different processes in our cells. He is using the software to solve a medical riddle: how can substances like alcohol and narcotics cause our nerve cells to disfunction?

Stockholm University is awarded two grants within the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation's mathematics program for recruiting prominent researchers in mathematics.


Two researchers at Stockholm University receive the 2022 Human Frontier Science Program Award

The 2022 Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) awards have now been announced. Two researchers from the Department of Zoology, Valentina Di Santo and Rhonda Snook, have been offered the prestigious and competitive Research Grants that support novel collaborations among teams of scientists working in different countries.
