We live in a world where tens of thousands of chemicals are used every day. So far, researchers have identified several hundred chemicals as endocrine disruptors, but most of them have not yet been studied. The risks these chemicals pose to both humans and the environment are underestimated, according to a new report from the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) and the World Health Organisation (WHO) which is presented today in Nairobi. The work was led by Professor Åke Bergman, internationally recognised environmental chemist at Stockholm University.
