After more than ten years at Stockholm University, new challenges await Director of Administration Joakim Malmström. On 1 June, he will take office as Director of the Swedish Museum of Natural History.

Joakim Malmström’s new place of work is one of the Ministry of Culture’s largest agencies. The Swedish Museum of Natural History has the task of promoting interest in, knowledge of, and research on the origins and development of the Earth and universe, the world of plants and animals, and the biology and natural environment of human beings.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to govern the Swedish Museum of Natural History. The museum has an amazing public operation that I and many visitors appreciate. Equally appealing to me is the knowledge that the Museum of Natural History conducts research of the highest calibre, while the Museum’s collections constitute an invaluable research infrastructure,” says Joakim Malmström.
