The Stockholm University Baltic Sea Centre was established on 1 January 2013, and is a merger between the Baltic Nest Institute (BNI) and the former Stockholm University Marine Research Centre with the Askö Laboratory. It also includes administration of the strategic research programme Baltic Ecosystem Adaptive Management (BEAM).
