Next year, Stockholm University is planning to start a new, shorter teacher training programme, due to the shortage of science teachers.

The programme will be aimed at students with a Master’s degree who did not plan to become teachers when they first began their university studies. The project is due to start next summer and will include a ten-week summer course, followed by intensive teacher training combined with paid work at a school. The students will become qualified teachers after only one year. The existing supplementary teacher training programmes are given over a longer period of time.
