The “Physics Show” project at Stockholm University started in the end of 2010 and has since visited more than 20 schools, as well as the Science Festival in Gothenburg. Behind the project are PhD students of physics at Stockholm University. Their underlying idea is to conduct experiments and then discuss what happened in order to bring the school’s more formal physics language closer to everyday life. The PhD students behind the project also want to show that physics researchers can be different from the image many people have of the “typical researcher”. It is hoped that the visits and shows will raise the school pupils’ interest in physics.
