Subject description
Organic chemistry is focused on the chemistry of the carbon compounds. The field includes synthesis and study of organic compounds and their reactivity. Modern organic chemistry has a broad interface to biology (enzyme- and bioorganic chemistry), inorganic (organometallic chemistry) and physics (material science and polymer chemistry).
