About The Young Faculty Organization

The Stockholm University Young Faculty (SU-YF) organization was established on February 1st 2018, and represents more than 500 members of postdoctoral fellows, researchers, assistant professors and young faculty members. All researchers with a Ph.D. but no permanent position within the Faculty of Science are currently considered SU-YF members.

The SU-YF aims to function as a connection point for this large, but relatively diverse group of university employees. This is achieved by academic representation, organizing and/or diseminating activities targeted for early- and mid-career researchers, related to career advice and grants, information regarding academia in Sweden, work-life balance, equity as well as social activities.

SU-YF advocates for building structures that will provide career support for diverse career paths, both in and beyond the academic path. Numerous other universities in Sweden have similar organizations and thus we work together under the National Junior Faculty (NJF) umbrella organization. We aim to work towards the goal of building a strong community that can benefit from the exchange of knowledge, culture and experience, in close collaboration with other Young/Junior/Future faculties within Sweden trough NJF.
